We decided to venture to a campground that we haven't been to yet, unfortunately we probably will not go back. It was a well kept place and very clean, but the beach was to far away from all of the camp sites and the beach was open to the public. There was a lot of loud foul language while at the beach, which I didn't care for my children to hear. Also a lot of strange people to... A big boat even ended up in the swim area, all swimmers had to get out-we really were not sure what the boat driver was doing, but we were pretty sure that the sheriff on the water issued him a ticket. We camped on a site near the bathroom so we had a lot of campers cutting through our lot. The biggest problem were the campers next to us, they didn't believe in quiet time til 2 in the morning. I think that they were afraid of the dark, because they hung a big working garage light from a tree that lite up their lot and at least 6 others. By Sunday night, and them blasting their radio at 10, we had enough, we packed up at 10:10pm and were out of there by 11:00pm. I know that when camping there is a risk as to who you will camp next to you, usually most campers follow the rules or the ranger enforces them, but at Wolverine campground that didn't seem to be the case. The workers had to come around at 1:00pm (checkout time) and tell people to pack up, get off the lots, how rude!!!
Two more weeks we will be heading North to Gaylord for some fun on the water and a day trip to Mackinaw Island. Boy are we all excited for that trip, it's the highlight of the summer..
Have a great day...
