It's been awhile..

Summer is still swinging in full force. Last weekend was busy with a wedding reception and 5th birthday party and then camping.
Camping at Otsego Lake a tradition that has been happening now for more than 10 years. Every end of July or first of August we head North to Gaylord to do a week of camping and boating. We always camp with the In-laws and who ever else we can drag along with us, usually Jackie and Ken spend some time with us, My mom visits for a day or two, The Denton's have camped with us also, and even Eric and Lindsay from Wyoming have spend time with us there, only once were we blessed with the Cecchini's--BUT this year--no visitors!! Why?? It was cold and windy and rainy, only us and a few campers stuck it out for the week. Otsego State Park is always packed and never an empty lot, this year on the other hand was pretty empty during the week. We ended up with one good day, no wind, no waves, plenty of sunshine, and a high of 79. We all spent the day in the water boating, tubing, skiing and swimming, so much so that we all got sun burnt. The next day we spent driving to Mackinaw City with a short stop at Sea Shell City, (never been there before now) it was a cute little gift shop. Then we walked around the city in the rain, did the Maze of Mirrors it was super fun, watched a girl run smack dab into a mirror the force was so strong that she fell back a few feet, it was funny..We decided after window shopping to take a trip over the bridge and tour Highway 2, found a camp ground that didn't interest any of us, it was roughing it with no electricity or water and in the woods with lots of bugs..Hey it was on the water tho. We then headed back to Gaylord for yet another tradition-Jets Pizza--yummie!!
While we were exploring the North our camp site was getting pounded with rain so much so that we lost our canopy, it filled up with water and ripped away from the camper. The next day we had more rain and the future forecast was stating more on the way and temps below 70 with high winds and no sun. We all decided to become quitters and pack up and head for home so here we are two days early-oo well..
Time to clean up all the clothes and packing gear and prepare for a garage sale next weekend and Florida on Monday the 31st.. 2 more weeks to Jamie and Kevin's Wedding on the beach in Melbourne Florida..While in Florida we will be taking a trip to Disney World on Tom's birthday, that way he gets in free. The kids are supper excited for the whole trip..
Pictures of our camping will be posted later, with more fun updates..CHOW!
