So the last couple of weeks I have been in North Carolina doing training for a Portrait Studio coming to the Genesee Valley Mall (located in the outdoor part). Our Grand opening is Friday the 12th. During the training, the coming paid for travel and hotel stay, the hotel was great. Three nights a week the hotel feed us dinner, catered by Macaroni Grill, we also had a nice spread of breakfast every morning also.
The first week of training was more like in classroom learning with test each morning about what we talked about the previous day. Which made for long days of training and then back to the room to study. By the end of the week we were taking photos and learning posing, the last week we were actually taking portraits and working with customers. It was an interesting 2 weeks, learning everything and rooming with 2 complete strangers (that are from flint and working in the same location) I had to share a room with another gal who tossed and turned, talked in her sleep and made other noise's too. Needless to say the first week was exhausting from the lack of sleep and being away from home.
The first weekend I had off I drove 25 minutes south into South Carolina and spent the night with Aunt Pam and Uncle Mike. They were so kind, letting me stay over and do laundry and cooking for me too. They were too sweet. I was also able to visit with cousin Chris, it was really nice seeing him after all that he has gone through. I wish him well and good health!!
My family missed me whole lot, Tom probably more than the kids, although Syd was really close. Elissa missed home cook meals and was ready for real food, Evan not sure about that boy, he was happy and content just knowing he didn't have to go anywhere and could be home. He is a home body!
So now the real test will begin, full time work 40 hours a week, no Mom at their beck-n-call, it will be an eye opener for all in this home. I have a wonder Family and Network of Friends that are always there for me, I'm truly blessed.
Thank you to everyone that helped out while I was gone, I couldn't have done it (really) without you all..
