Well in our household or at least with me there is only one type of milk that we/I will drink: that is 1/2 % milk. Not only does it have to be this type but it has to be either Kroger or Meijer, mainly Kroger. If I want to have a glass of milk it must be Kroger 1/2% and no other. If I want a bowl of cereal I will use Meijer or Country fresh but will not drink the left over milk and cereal flavoring which is the super yummy part of a bowl of cereal. This causes a huge problem when traveling for more than a few days, I can not drink single servings of milk or milk from restaurants it's just disappointing when I try, so I don't.
Milk has so many benefits for our body and long term health: Intake of fluid milk has been demonstrated to reduce the risk of osteoporosis, hypertension, and colon cancer, Drinking milk may help to reduce the risk of kidney stones, Milk intake may help to reduce the risk of tooth decay by acting as a substitute for saliva. Of course there are many others also but I'm not going to list them all just know that milk is good for one's body.
So, you may be asking why such a topic to chat about? I ran to my local Kroger to get milk, along with a few other little things, and low and behold Kroger had no 1/2% anywhere in the store. Not up front at the "all I need is milk" display which they never have the kind I drink in there, nor of course on the shelf where it belongs, even flagged down an employee scanning diapers who checked the chilly frig where all the milk is kept and nothing. No 1/2% milk in Kroger. I thought this to be odd, last week it was Tylenol on sale that I wanted and they didn't have and now milk.. What will be missing next? At least I got sloppy joe mix, buns, & eye glass cleaner for Evan (cuz he has to wear glasses now).
